I hope everyone out there has a great Christmas.
I think I’m gonna stop blogging until after the first of the year. Not much politically going on (except the usual Chicago corruption stuff).
Music wise I think we’re going to go see Webb Wilder on the 27th, and Hillbilly Casino is playing a ton of shows out [...]

Over the last few years, there’s been a lot of talk about how the United States supposedly has tortured people. One of those supposed torture methods is something called “water boarding.”
Basically, it makes the person being “tortured” feel like they’re about to drown. But get this: they’re not in any real physical danger at all!

At work today, I was talking to a potential vendor about their services. During our conversation, the fellow said something that I thought was very applicable to the election: “hope is not a strategy.”
Wow.
I would add to that something along the lines of “Change is not a tactic”.

So, Heart has their panties in a wad because the Republicans used their song “Barracuda” during the Republican convention. They’ve even sent some kind of cease and disest letter demanding they stop playing it.
I don’t think they have a leg to stand on. If the Republicans paid ASCAP, SESAC, and BMI for performance fees, then they [...]

Charlie Daniels had a song out a few years ago called “This Ain’t No Rag (It’s A Flag)”. Watching some of the USA’s Olympic athletes, you wouldn’t know it wasn’t a rag.
I’ve seen the flag used as a towel (more or less) by a bronze (bronze: the second loser) medal winner. Not only did [...]
