Crazies Come Out In Nashville

Because of the debate Tuesday, getting home that day from work was a little bit more of a chore than usual. I normally go up Edgehill from 21st, hang a right on 18th, then left on Horton, then right on 17th, then from there on Magnolia and ultimately to Belmont.
But TuesdayI just went straight up 21st to Hillsboro Road. Passing the Blakemore/Wedgewood/21st Ave intersection, there were a bunch of, well, idiots protesting something. One person was holding up an anti-nuke sign (not sure if it was against weapons or energy), there was a pro-choice “Christian” feminist, and someone in a clown suit (who was the only person dressed appropriately). By the way, this is the corner where all the crazies normally hang out when someone decides to protest. It wasn’t uncommon to see “drummers” and other protesters there in the run up to the Iraq war.
Then up the street a little bit where Magnolia runs into 21st, there were a LOT of Obamaroids hanging out. Near as I could figure, they must have thought one or the other candidates were going to pass that way.
The folks from Vanderbilt’s conservative student blog, Right Wing Vitriol (yeah Vanderbilt apparently has conservative students; who’d a thunk it) were by there an at the debate site at Belmont. They snapped a few pictures of all the activities. The very bottom two pictures are from the 21st and Wedgewood protesters.
Funny, I didn’t see a one with a “Thank you troops for protecting my right to be gullible” sign.
